Everyone has at least several unobtainium items on their bucket list...that's one of mine. I don't think I'll ever talk myself into one of them. :(

I like the ad first saw it in high school, but the one that got me hook was the TV series Combat. Until I carried one at work for a job one time, Heaver than a 60 with ammo. But if you don't have to carry them for days there is very little that works better in town. Had this one at the range for a friend to play with then had to put it back in the locker.

Always thought Thompson's were the top of the list for cool! Never have fired one, but have coon fingered a few at gun shows over the years. Paladin's right, even unloaded I found them to be plenty heavy to be carrying around for any length of time.

I got to shoot one once. Not in the service, but I rented one at an indoor gun range near Laconia N.H. Most of my shooting is with 3" duck guns, so I leaned into it just before pulling trigger out of habit and, it felt like a 22 going off. Even full auto didn't rise all that much. What a hoot!
