thought you were still mad about the " anecdotal evidence" affair.

I thought I heard on the radio today that the 'black box' had actually 'expired' (or something like that) a couple years prior to the crash... :?:

I figured it was because it's nearing or just past the 1 year anniversary, and the press is desperate to find other subjects than a certain politico's email woes

How did that go for you?
Now you know why that facility is where it is.
It would be cool to be able to visit with you.
Maybe we can convince octagon to visit?

It went really well I think, but I won't know for sure until sometime in April.

Moon was full when I was down there, lots of deer around after sunset - perfect spot for a cat. Almost hung around for a second night to see the lunar laser ranging shot that was planned - but it was scheduled for 1 am, too late for me - I was up at 4:45 that morning.

An "expert" was on air the other day speculating that it went to Kazakhstan. That the pilot expertly went stealth, killed the passengers by climbing to 45,000 and de-pressurizing the cabin, then returning to a course for Russian held territory.

Actually they are not influenced by Russia anymore than they are influenced by the rest of the world, and are in fact trying to join NATO. I might know a little bit about that since I participated in an annual joint NATO exercise there with their Airborne unit. :D

But not as big as your mouth....

I've got big feet, so after your front teeth are gone, my boot will fit perfectly.

Not at all Mesc, I don't even know what you are referring too. I just got more involved with Harley stuff again, on Harley forums, that's all. It was just co-incidence if I didn't post here. I'm working on finishing a 131 build in an 09 Dyna and that is unheard of. All sorts of problems to work out.

Old Savage just told me the other day you were gone, so I was glad to see you posting her again, thus my comment.

Truly nice to see you back.

True, but Baikonur Cosmodrome is not exactly a small deal, and I don't believe it's Kazakstanis launching all those space vehicles...

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Are you saying that Kazakhstans only resource is the Cosmodrome and that since it is managed under lease by the Russian Space Agency, then Kazakhstan is run by Russia? Russia has leased it till 2050, they pay Kazakhstan for it's use.

Kazakhstan is the worlds 9th largest country, and has the worlds third largest oil reserve. They want to join NATO which they are aggressively pursuing and which we are encouraging and helping, and they do not want to join OPEC.

Kazakhstan is not by any stretch a "Russian held territory" as the rumored conspiracy suggested, which is what started this tangent. Kazakhstan has been an independent country since 1991, they are very capable of governing themselves, and they are not weak like Ukraine.

BTW, every strain of apple has been traced back to Kazakhstan. The largest city is named Almaty. The etymology of the name Almaty is loosely translated Apple Father. Apple growers have been grafting branches from those trees back in to domestic trees to try and restore their resilience against pests and disease.
