A Treinta-Treinta followed me Home.

Post by Jaguarundi »

Went for a Haircut. Then wife on board decided "We need to stop a DQ".While eating we both mused how a long hard week(remember the movie "The Hospital")at work had left us tired. She said "Do ya wanna go home?"she asked. My reply was "Yup-but while we are in town let's stop by the pawnshop".Greenlight.The pawn shop is usually well stocked with previously owned firearms-but rarely a levergun.(in the last 10 years only two Marlin 336's and a Savage 99 has graced there gun racks-people prefer boltguns or hangon to there leverguns in my neck of the woods).Well I noticed a used, very good condition 94 AE "Ranger"(chambered in 30-30) behind the counter  :D !While handling the rifle in front of 6 migrant Mexicans I softly said "Treinta-Treinta".The Mexicans all smiled with admiration. After some swift talking, paperwork and $200 it went out door with me. :D I have a few questions for the Winnie officianadas. This 94 AE has a Gold plated trigger. When did Winchester start/stop plating the triggers?(I am a Marlin man-this is my first 94)also on what 94 models did they offer the gold trigger as a stock feature?By the way-the new/used Rifle's name is christined "Treinta-Treinta" :D I be up late tonight cleaning and lubing. :D :D :D

Gold-"tone" trigger = Commemorative, usually. I'm not fluent with the "AE" models, but do understand some variance from the prior statement exists in those. And, then again, someone coulda just put it on there!

The trigger has no "wiggle" and is crisp at 3#.... :D I try to stop by that pawnshop very often.I have picked up some really good deals.(forgot to add-the 94 AE Deal include 3 boxes of hornady 30-30 LE "gummy tips"no extra charge) :D ! The pawnshop is right outside FT. RUCKER army base (flight school for Helos)...so nice stuff floats in.

I sleep very nicely thank you! :D What is nice is the barrel is only marked 94 AE 30-30.I could allways replace the stocks with walnut for a upgrade. 8) As is I think the rifle's future is as a Deer hunter :) !

Ysabel Kid the rifle is better than the cell camera shows. The white spots on the receiver and barrel bands are just light glare :D The blueing is over 95% with a few micro red fur spots that were easily removed with bronze brush and elbow work. After cleanup I spot hit with "super blue" and she looks good as new.Seems the previous owner just didn't clean and oil the gun(although the bore and interior parts are 100% finish with almost no wear)and maybe shot a few rounds. :D
