My polling place is a school and I don't carry into the school but I do lock the firearm up in the car and then resume carrying before I leave the parking lot. This is in keeping with state law. I don't like the arrangement but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf now that I am in middle age and learn to play nice with others.

I don't know of any schools that are not gun free zones, and a school is always a school, doesn't matter if kids are there or not.

Being a retired LEO, in Virginia, the Code of the Commonwealth states that I am entitled to carry my sidearm any place that an active LEO can. I have voted in uniform after work, and nothing was said, so I don't worry too much about it. It's kinda like the "No Guns" signs, I have it concealed and barring unforeseen circumstances, I keep on trucking. If you have it properly concealed, it would seem a moot point, because with the current addictions to I-phones, I- pads and the like (I thought the I-pad was a feminine hygiene product at first) that so many people are addicted to, I seriously doubt 99.9% of the sheeple out there will notice.....

The only thing that would concern me about going into a school with my CCW to vote
is most of the schools have metal detection. I wonder if there turned on during
election days.

Hmm. My wife's school system does not have a metal detector. My poling place is in a church and I have not seen one at that poling place.

Mike, the elementary school your wife teaches at used to be a poling place
for many years. It's since been moved to another location. I don't think it's
in a school anymore. As to metal detectors, I really don't know how many
of our local schools have them.

Given some of the shenanigans in some States (see Al Franken et al.) it happens to "regular" ballots too... so what's the diff?

If you live where there is a Demorat AG/Election Commission, rules are going to be broken without recourse. It's how the game is played these days.

How do we know if absentee ballots are all Counted? How do we know that all ballots cast in person are counted? Of course in Chicago dead people vote. OTOH if a person votes absentee and between the time they return the ballot and election day they die is their vote still valid (Chicago rules?). Who checks?
