New pest erradicator With pictures

Post by rjohns94 »

Having suffered the loss opportunity at mossyoak's 1893 (nicely done mike), I had to take consul in a new takedown ruger 10/22. This one came with a flash hider attached. Took about three minutes to heat it up, remove it and install a silencer on it. Took it out immediately and in three shots, I had the Millet red dot sight sighted in with subsonic ammo. Figured I may not be able to use it for hunting but should be lots of fun to shoot

That sounds like much fun!! I wish silencers were more common here and without all the paper work and taxes added.

Sounds like something I'm in need of for the sudden population surge in backyard tree-rats.

I heard a rep from Sig talking about their silencer line up. They are making them more durable and cleanable because of the increase in demand. He said 27 or 29 states now allow them for hunting.

Pa allows silencers for hunting, just not semi auto rifles. I use the silencer on a bolt gun for hunting.

I don't understand why all states don't allow them for hunting. They certainly cut down on the noise that the non-hunters hear, help protect our hearing, and generally make the woods a better place without all the (noise) pollution. Shouldn't everyone be in favor of less pollution?

I sometimes shoot CB longs in my 10-22 with no suppressor. The sound of the firing pin on the case head is louder than the report.

I do have to cycle it by hand, but there are no feeding issues.

I got my 10/22-TD last year this time for my birthday. I fairly promptly sent it out to have the barrel reduced to 16.5" and theaded (by JP Grips). He did a great job. Works perfectly with my YHM can.

Of course, Ruger is never one to miss an opportunity to incorporate changes favored by customers, and many of them must have thought of the same idea. They released the one with the flash hider later last year or early this year.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it Mike! :D
