wow...incredible

I get emails and videos from Dr Grant Woods in SW Missouri...
and he has reported that EHD and the record drought
was very, very hard on the whitetail population...especially in the mid west

If the rack was found near water...it probably died from EHD

I have probably crossed paths with that big boy. I spend a lot of time out there. We rabbit hunted there New Years Day, as we always do. There is another conservation area just across the road, Weldon Springs. Both require you to be drawn in a lottery to hunt deer, which there are a lot of. The Weldon Springs side goes down to the Missouri River, lots of area for deer to eat, hide and grow big.

Just across the river is Howell Island, another conservation area, bow hunting only. Some big ones get pulled out of there once in a while as well.

The Missouri Monarch was found near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers, downstream from this area. That is the current world record Whitetail. Found about a mile from my high school, actually.

We have some nice ones around.

I have a couple cousins that have put in for those lotterys for the last few years. They were wanting me to put in with them this year, may just have to try it out.
