Texas Hog Hunting: Levergun Only!

Post by nemhed »

I'm starting to plan a Texas hog hunt for early 2009 and would like any and all opinions on Texas outfitters that offer hog hunting. Personal experiences both positive and negative would be greatly appreciated. I'm not interested in canned hunts and I'm not a rich man. This would probably be one of the few out of state hunts I'll ever take. I promise I'll only use a levergun. Thanks Y'all!

Action Outdoor Adventures

That's where we did it with 86er. Had a Wonderful time! Unfortunately the week we were there, winter temps jumped to the mid 70s and those wascally porcines went nocturnal in their winter coats. Happily, the owner was able to make the hunt successful for everyone with other animals.
Kind regards,
Tycer

I would be happy to discuss a hunt with you. The last hunt Feb 8-10 we were able to get 3 hogs for 7 hunters. We don't hunt over feeders, but I could set one up if that is how you'd like to do business.

Call the office and they'll give you my cell #. (516) 804-9750

I've hunted with these guys a couple of times.

Had a great time. Prices are usually very reasonable. Don't take the prices on the web-site for gospel, Mr. Smith will make a deal if you try.

For the past couple of years we've been getting a gang of fellows together over at Marlinowners.com for a March "Hogfest". I'm sure that if one is pulled together in 2009 you'd be more than welcomed to join. A larger group helps keep the cost down.

On issue on this though, Mr. Smith (the guide) had a fellow get himseld shot a couple of years back, so he doesn't permit spot and stalk. Pretty sure all he permits is stands, but he hunts days and as late into the night as you want.

:)
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
