The right way is always the hardest. It's like the law of nature , water always takes the path of least resistence...... That's why we get crooked rivers and crooked men . TR Theodore the Great

Well, it's pretty hard for me to make some of them out, so I may be wrong, but think I see Left to right:
Savage 99
Winchester 86
Winchester 94, I am really guessing on this one
Winchester 73
Winchester 94
Winchester 86
Winchester 73
I see seven leveractions
And of course a few probably spanish 7x57 mausers in there too.

I am in agreement with you. The '94 in the middle looks like it could be a 22" short rifle. I would like to add that the second guy on the left has destroyed the collectors value on that 86 by adding sling swivels! Dope--No wonder we have so many butchered guns out there. Didn't he realize that one day those guns would be worth a small fortune! ------------Sixgun

You got a point, regarding that sling, but somehow, when I look into those men's faces in that picture, I doubt if the question of lowering the collector value of their guns, ever came up, as I am sure you would agree. And darn it, that was probably a Deluxe model to boot.Sixgun wrote:Lastmohecken wrote:Well, it's pretty hard for me to make some of them out, so I may be wrong, but think I see Left to right:

I think you missed the cannon. It's the one with the big hole in the middle of the picture.cubrock wrote:Took me a while, but I finally found that 73. Here is what I see:

No kidding! That picture already shows a plethora of different cartridges in use. For instance, there could be 7X57 (for sure), .44 WCF, .30 WCF, .45-70, and .303 Savage all represented. And that is just for starters!
Musta been tough being a revolutionary supply sergeant in those days!

RangeRider 7, thanks for posting that picture again. It's a classic When I was a kid I fantasized about being a gun runner/mercenary in Mexico. Country fascinated me. Managed to wander around Ciudad Juarez for a day or two about - lessee - 43 years ago without getting in trouble. On the way to Kennedy to catch a flight to El Paso then, I stopped in a gun shop and wound up with an 1894 SRC in 25-35. I paid $65.00 for it and stowed it under the front seat of my '64 Falcon wagon. Left it there for a week in the parking lot at Kennedy. Probably couldn't do that now.
Boy, did I butcher "logistical.!"
