We're saddened to relay reports that William F. Buckley has died at the age of 82. The elder statesman of conservatism passed away this morning at his home in Stamford, Connecticut.

He will be missed.

I learned alot from him.....when I was younger & liberal I would watch his programs on the local PBS station hoping to see him taken down a peg or three but as time went by I found myself seeing his point and as I gained some real world experience and a little wisdom I started to learn from him.

I don't believe I was unique in this regard.

His influence will never be fully appreciated as I believe he paved the way for the Reagan revolution.....he certainly did with me.

That's a bummer. I really enjoyed some of his books.

Bummer, I really enjoyed his writing and his command of the English language. I wonder if the National Review will change now that he is gone?

I also watched Firing Line in my youth. I had to have a dictionary nearby to translate half of what he said! His debates with John Kenneth Galbraith (sp?) were classic.

A conservative icon on par with Reagan. He has no understudy in the wings, I'd say.
