Mossberg 30-30

Post by Pop Watts »

Can I ask for a little advise from you guys. I have found a Mossberg 30-30 which I believe is a Model 472. It has 20" barrel with full mag and has a saddle ring. Straight rear stock and a metal butt plate as well I think.

So this looks like a Marlin - but are they any good???

Any feedback would be apprecieted.

Thanks, Pop.

I have one and I like mine though mine has the pistol grip stock, I prefer a straight but they are harder to come by. Side by side comparison with a Marlin will reveal it is actually quite different and innovative in design.

Go for it. They're good rifles and hard to come by.

I have a straight grip model, and, although it's been altered a bit, it shoots just as good as any other 30-30 I have. Go for it if the price is right.
Well done is better than well said.

I have a straight grip model also,
I will report an odd phenomenon here.
I can, with more speed, comfort & enjoyment;
' work the lever from the shoulder " than I can my Win. model 94
Any suggestions as to why?

Mebbe cuz the trigger rotates along with the lever when it's thrown?
