Very nice rifle. We share similar tastes. Not to steal your thread but I picked mine up today. They could be twins. Congrats on a fine rifle. Any honey-do-work necessary to explain that one? 1886.
I've tried to look at the pictures, I don't know, maybe 8 times now and I can't see them. Apparently everyone else can. Anyone have any ideas. I don't have a problem looking at any others on this forum. Unless it's the same as everyone else.

Lord! That rifle must have jumped out of your hands at those velocities Thats 375 H&H speed. I have shot 300 grainers at 2100 and that was enough for me! Bless you--------------Sixgun
I've got the same rifle only with straight grip...and for the life of me I can't understand why some folk claim the crescent butt hurts. I guess its all in how you hold it, where you hold it and your phsyical build.
It flat works for me and I love the fact it looks good whilst doing it!
That rifle is a beaut! I'm jealous, my rifle was made in '90s and has much plainer wood. Shoots good though. I chronographed loads from mine and quit at 2475fps on the 300. Never did show any pressure with H4198, I just ran out of shoulder! I guarantee everything shot with those 300JHP's and Partitions at that speed went DOWN!
Thanks for the pic - beautiful rifle! Mine is straight stock with no checkering, otherwise the same, well, that is except it is a .45-90.
Thanks also for the load data.
I agree with El Mac, I have adjusted to the crescent buttplate and recoil is no problem, especially when not at a benchrest. That big old 9.5 pound rifle does soak up some of the recoil, I guess.
