Both movies are right up there at the top that is for sure, but there are others that I like pretty good also. Red River is one of them. Rio Bravo is another. And lets not forget The Outlaw Josey Wales. And the Cowboys with John Wayne and Bruce Dern is hard to beat also. OH! and of course The Searchers is in there also.
And the best mini-series western ever made was without a doubt, Lonesome Dove.
And then you have High Noon, with Gary Cooper, can't leave that one out either.

Boys, I love westerns as much as the next guy, more than most people do. I'm sorry if I ruffle any feathers here, but I didn't care for the Magnificent 7 at all. I just don't care for Yule Brenner, and Steve McQueen was way better in the Great Escape. Just my opinion. I love almost all John Wayne movies. Cahill and The Cowboys are two of my faves. The Outlaw Josey Wales is another good one. My favorite of all time is Lonesome Dove. You just can't beat Robert DuVall and Tommy Lee Jones in that movie.
