I want a Volcanic pistol replica...........
That shoots light centerfire ammo. Why can't that be done?

Re: I want a Volcanic pistol replica...........
It has been done. However, there isn't demand enough to allow a company to make one at the $1000 price point.

Given enough time and money, it's possible.

Re: I want a Volcanic pistol replica...........
Leroy Merz had a 22 lr volcanic pistol, he said was made around 1900 by an unknown maker, for sale at 1000$ some years ago.
then there was the maker in meteetsee wyoming who was going to make 22 lr rifle versions.......i was going to order but i think he abandoned the project. no one at the phone number anymore when i last checked. volcanic made a small rimfire back in the day, that were sometimes used a boys rifles, or cadet rifles. some prep school actually sold off a lot of these many many years ago.
i guess i will keep on hoping....but i want it to be shootable without horrendous efforts.

Re: I want a Volcanic pistol replica...........
It may be feasable to fabricate on from an 1866 repro. I had oen of the Navy Arms 1866's in 22 lr. it was a fun gun. Since it didn't have a side loading gate, I figured it looked rather like a Henry. I took the fore end off and filed the bosses off the receiver for it.
BTW, if anyone ever comes across that gun, I'd like to know. I foolishly sold it, and wish I hadn't.

In project management we always say you can do anything if you throw enough time and money at the problem.
Reproducing one of these shouldn't be an issue for a good machinist, and someone with access to a good CNC machine. Especially brass receiver should be easy to do.
First, someone would have to develop good drawings and get them converted into something the machines can chew on.
Then if you're going .22LR only, you're going to have to prototype up to get everything working correctly with a new caliber.
So saying, I don't see how you can get the price point down to something reasonable if you're going to turn them out in small lots.
Pretty cool though.

Cool, but I don't think those are replicas. The first one looks like the same one in my pic. I took it from the NRA book.

I'd start with the Uberti 1860 Henry - AFTER getting the tax-stamp from the BATFE!Old Ironsights wrote:+1... though be sure to talk to the BATmen before they come talk to you...Malamute wrote:It may be feasable to fabricate on from an 1866 repro. ...
