Evil Black Levergun pics

Post by AmBraCol »

Well, I'm back home. It was a busy couple weeks up in the US. On the way back I brought an evil black levergun with me, nearly didn't get it into the country. Them guns is evil you know and dangerous as well. Anyway, it's here and I even managed to sneak an hour to run up to the gunclub with it yesterday and get it sighted in at 50 meters.

The Evil Black Levergun - SEE? There's the lever!

Yeah, it's got that funny carry handle on it, but only until I get a chance to wring it out and see what pellets it prefers. Then it's off with the carry handle and I'll see if I can improve my open sight shooting over time.

It's good to be back. Glad to see the place didn't burn to the ground or anything... :)

AmBraCol -

Nice lever gun. I have one of those from Beeman in .22 Caliber. Pretty effective on squirrels out to 40 to 50 yards. They are a lot of fun and for guys that live in the city or built up areas, air guns are great as they can normally be fired in populated areas.

I OWE YOU AN APPOLOGY:

A couple of weeks back you were soliciting donations. I asked if you could take a U. S. Postal Money Order and you replied that you could as you were coming up to the States for a couple of weeks. Well, a couple of days later before I could get into town to get a money order I came down with the flu and bronchitis. I was flat laid out for days and just couldn't get to town. My doctor even came to the house so I wouldn't have to drag myself to town (one of the benefits of living in a small town). I will make arrangements with Hobie at a later date (pretty soon) to get some money to him so he can get it to you. SORRY!! Don't like to commit to something like that and then not come through.

Anyway, nice lever gun and good to hear you made it home ok.

Pretty cool in its own way. But I wanted something to use open sights on - plus fairly accurate and cheap. Not easy to find 'em all in one package...

I've only had it out once. My objective is to brush up on 50 meter rifle shooting. It holds them in the X ring of a 24 meter slow fire pistol target at that range. Some folks have reported sub inch groups with the right pellets around that range, time will tell if mine's up to that or not. Anyway, this is a Gamo CFX - I ordered the one with the gas ram instead of a spring but they were going to back order it until too close to my return date, so I went with the standard version instead. http://www.pyramidair.com has the best price on them that I've found. http://www.charliedatuna.comhas their GRT-III trigger which makes them REAL nice.

Should be good practice for you. I want one myself for the rodents that dig under the cabin, but mostly to shoot Pine Cones out of the Larger Pine Trees. My wife makes Xmas Wreaths out of them.
