Tackling my Cold weather BLR problem

Post by Bigahh »

I had some Cold Weather problems with my BLR .308 on Opening day of Deer Season here in wisconsin. It was 17 degrees, and windy. The rifle went click 5 times, and I knew it probably was a cleaning problem on my part, and so did you guys. I got some much needed input from some of you, but due to a heart attack in early december, I was unable to tend to the rifle. After a thorough Gun Scrubbing, and an Air hose in the Firing Pin Channel I was ready for some cold weather. 9 Degrees last night, and I set the rifle out on the back deck. At daybreak I loaded the gun with 2 shells, and touched off both rounds. I am happy to say there was a nice, beautiful sounding Boom both shots ! Thanks for the input guys! As always you were a big help, especially COsteve, Hobie, and Bruce. I will hopefully test the rifle again on the next cold snap, but I think it is good to go!
