Marlin reciever sight

Post by Old Shatterhand »

This reciever sight is mounted on an old Marlin 1893. Is it an original sight or a later addition?

The gun is on the german auction site Egun.de and the asked orice is €3200, slightly more in $. http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=3069123

Ganz interessantes! Unbekannt. Es ist nicht original. (Entschultige mir bitte; mein Hochschule Deutsch sehr rostig ist!)

Yep, interesting. Never seen another. Not original. Fabricated from another rear sight.
Sincerely,

Agreed.Historically i know little, but that is no rear sight i've ever seen on ANY Marlin (or Winchester). Looks to be a 1 off.
