OT: Prayer request for my Brother

Post by J Miller »

I got this email from my brother tonight. I've known for some time he was in pretty bad shape, but not this bad. I suffer some of the same spinal problems he has so I can relate to his problems.
I'd just like to ask all those who pray to add my brother Bill in Costa Mesa, CA to your list.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
To my brother Joe, and those of you whose friendship I cherish:

My spine has degenerated to the point where I am in constant pain, and cannot stand or walk for more than 10 minutes at a time. An MRI of the spine done last week shows 4 herniated discs, bone spurs pinching the sciatic nerve, and spinal arthritis. I am tentatively scheduled for major surgery. Wednesday, April 12. The spinal surgery specialist is going to place about 8 inches of titanium along each side of my spine to separate the vertebrae so they are not grinding bone against bone. He will also trim the bone spurs to alleviate the pinched nerve pain.

Having been a heavy smoker for so many years, I am not considered a good surgical candidate. At best, I have been told I will be at least 5 days in the hospital after the surgery. Oh joy, hospital food!

I am requesting that each of you who receive this e-mail reply with your name, mailing address, (some of you will be in my will) telephone number, and e-mail address. I intend to print out your replies and make them available to the lady who has been helping me, in case notification needs to be made.

Hopefully, you will be hearing from ME, on or about the 17th of next month.

Thank you,

Bill

OK Joe, will do.

Back pain is bad news. His sounds pretty serious.

Joe, tell brother that your other family is praying for him that God's hand will be on him through this.
