OT: Bear wrecks AK bush plane

Post by 86er »

Don't leave your food bins on the aircraft. The radio wires were severed. The handheld radio will only transmit far enough to try to reach a plane that is in sight, and they didn't want to waste batteries calling "in the blind". The pilot figured out how to get back safely. Duct tape -

Someone sent me those pictures, and more too. The bear even flattend both main tires. The pilot radioed another plane to bring him some plastic sheets, cases of duct tape and two new tires, and flew it out!

That'll work. After all, they used to make airplanes from wood and fabric.

That had to be one of those head slap Image , "What was I thinking when I left the food in the airplane", moments.

100 mile an hour tape "will" cover bullet holes in an airframe, at least of helos. And it stops bullets as well as the original aluminum.
