.357 Mag on its way out??

Post by grahng »

I recently pruchased a Rossi 92 in 375. Since then, I have been rading that that cal is on its way out and soon the ammo will be very diff to locate. Anybody know anything about it. Should I get out of the Rossi while I can?

Since your talking about a Rossi, I presume your talking about the 357? -Tutt

I'd hang on to that one for sure. A Rossi 92 in 375 Mag is sure to be a collector's item.

YOUR ANSWER IS NO. THE 357MAG IS ONE OF THE BEST SELLING OF ALL THE MEDIUM BORE CARTRIDGES AND IS BY FAR THE BEST SELLING OF ALL THE "MAGNUM" CARTRIDGES.
YOU WOULD BE WELL ADVISED TO SPEND YOUR TIME READINGS THINGS THAT ARE WRITTEN BY FOLKS WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.
ON THE OTHER HAND YOU BETTER SELL THE OBSOLETE ROSSI REQUIRING ALL THAT CRAPPY WOOSY AMMO TO ME FOR 50 BUCKS AND BE DARNED GLAD I DON'T MAKE YOU DELIVER IT NOW...I DO MEAN RIGHT NOW !!!!

Isn't the .38sp somthing like the longest running OEM pistol cartridge other than .22 RF?

Ain't the .357 just a long .38?

No way in hades is .357 going anywhere. And even if it did, a .357 will stil eat .38s all day, and THEY sure as Alaskan Snow aren't going anywhere. 8)

They are hard to get now, so are .38s. It isn't because they are going anywhere though, its because they are so popular and everyone has one. Now they've all at once decided to horde ammo since Obama got into office and the economy went in the crapper (hording survival supplies + scared some new ammo regulations will come out). Went to 4 stores this past weekend and none had .38, only bass pro had .357. Lots and lots of slots where they were supposed to be, just sold out.

Maybe whoever said it was mistaking the current situation?

Perhaps the person was trying to say the Rossi Puma's are being sold out then not replaced - that much is true. The new maker/importer situation will mean a slighty better finished gun, at a greatly higher price.

BudsGunShop.com has a fair stock of Rossi's left, and you might also look on TheGunSource.com - good luck. I just latched onto the last one they had in stainless 16" at Bud's.
