Joe,
Very informative and well written. It does take a bit of guts to slam a big bullet down a skinny bore when not knowing the workings of loads like that. You will bring happiness to a mess of folks who do not know how to properly size.
For most years of my shooting career, I too took the Lyman book as gospel. You would have thought they would know better.
JT is a very cool dude but he won't sell that 4" S&W 1950 Target back to me. Don't blame him a bit--------Sixgun

Just one question though...
Will you give out free autographs to your buddies here on Leverguns...?
Sure, I'll see what I can do

Good job.
I've written a couple articles that have been published in various small publications. Both hard copy and on line. Never did find out how to do for money though.

A good write up Joe, and yes, the best answer to oversized throats. As Corbin states in his swaged bullet articles, a bullet WILL be throat diameter when passing through the throats and will be bore diameter once in the forcing cone IF soft enough and smacked hard enough (but it sure helps if they start out a bit bigger than the throats)
Some interesting info there and it is a credit to Taffin that he has always been willing to write to the others in the gun community. Had some letters back and forth with him 20 years ago and he in addition to being informative he had a great sense of humor about shooting.
