That's easy enough. It would be Tom Selleck's 1886 50-110 SRC from the movie Monte Walsh.

I would pick this one too for greatest movie rifle of all time --- it does technically have a lever, --- i just interpreted the OP's intention of lever guns being magazine fed lever guns.

Tom Selleck really gets good representation in threads like these, too bad he's not a forum participant (Quigley, Monte Walsh, Crossfire Trail, Sabre River --- all awesome movies with heavy firearms emphasis)

My choice would be the old beat up 1892 short rifle that John Wayne used most of the time in "THE SEARCHERS". I would hope I could also have the beaded buckskin case he carried it in. I think "THE SEARCHERS" was Wayne's best Movie, plus I saw it with my mom and dad, now deceased, when it came out in 1955 or 1956.

rangerider7,I reckon The Seachers has to be my all time favoite movie and that buckskin case made me make a deerskin case for my 1892 32wcf. I saw the movie in Gainesville Florida in 1956 when it came out. I was with my rifle team from Lake Worth Florida National Guard unit. We didn't win the match, but got to see a great movie.

Not a lever, but Henry Fonda's Nickle plated 7 1/2' Colt SAA in Once Upon a Time in the West is probably my favorite movie gun of all time.

I too liked "The Searchers". The only hang-up I have about it is that the movie was suppose to depict an event of the late 1860's and 1870's which would have eliminated the 1892 from being a true representation of guns available during those times.

Modoc ED, I know what you mean, but I think I can count on my hands how many movies depicting the time period of right after the Civil War that are technically correct in their display of weapons. How many Henry's are brass plated 92s or 94s without the forearms. Wayne was notorious for the use of Colt SAA and 92s in his movies no matter what the time period depicted. I wish they could all be correct but few are.

Not a "traditional lever", but I'd take the 1874 Sharps used by Tom Selleck in "Quigley Down Under". After that, Jimmie Stewart's "One of a Thousand" 1873 Winchester in the movie "Winchester '73". Or any of the 1892 "large loop" Winchesters used by John Wayne in his 60's westerns.

I have to agree with you "rangerider7". The first thing I look for in a movie is enjoyment and if the guns used aren't exactly right for the time period of the movie it really isn't that critical to me. I only made the point I did as there are quite a few guys on this forum that "demand" realism of all props in the Westerns they watch.

One more for Monte Walsh's 1886 50-110. Tom Selleck is one of the few actors who owns and uses his own guns in his movies. I also liked the 45-60 carried by Steve McQueen in Tom Horn
