Way OT: Lever Gunners & Musical Instruments.

Post by cshold »

Just out of curiosity I got to wondering if and if so what
Musical instruments you all play :?:
I for one “used” to play the Cornet, wish at times I still had it. :(

Been a drummer since the 5th grade.

Have been thinking about a new drum set lately just to annoy the hillbilly neighbors! :D

I play the native american flute, nearly every night and it goes with me on my walks, and in my hunting gear. I also play with the harmonica and Dijerdoo, and austraillian music sticks.

I tried to learn to play the trumpet when I was about 8 but got braces soon after and had to stop. I wish I could play an instrument. I have thought about taking up the bagpipes...

Okay, this is just strange. I've been reading and learning on this forum for the last 5 months, and now within the last 24 hours there have been 2 posts I have just had to reply to.

I'm a band director. I can play all the normal band instruments. I can't play the guitar or the piano.

Played Trumpet as a kid(only instrument I read music for). Also Harmonica, Acoustic Guitar, Tin Whistle, peck on the Piano, and I have a Cavalry Bugle that I rouse my boys with sometimes. Like Hobie, I've always had a desire to play the Bag Pipes, and the 5 string Banjo.

Taught myself to play harmonica a few years ago. It was a tough few months for the family, who endured the noise until it started to sound like music.

My kids are the real musicians in the house. Both play guitar (one real well, the other enough to impress girls) , and one plays clarinet VERY well.

I played tuba as a kid. My son is taking trumpet lessons, and to encourage him, I practice with him on a soprano trombone (in the same pitch).

Just bought my first ukulele and am liking it quite a bit.

Well don't let this get around, but I play the Alto Sax and a little harmonica, especially when I'm in the wilderness (the harmonica that is, not the sax).

If I can manage the extra weight, I like to take a flute (usually a bamboo alto) to the woods.

I played trumpet as a kid.

Then I got a degree in Early Music performance.

Recorder and baroque flute were my main instruments.

I really don't play much anymore after a hand injury.

I recently picked up the trombone again. I have made and play around with wooden flutes. Most my time is spent singing and playing the mandolin.

I do Valves and Bugles, but my slide work is marginal...

I may like music and musical instruments better than guns. It's great to enjoy both and that's what really matters.

My best performance comes from a chromatic (button on the end) harmonica. I also "play a little" guitar and tinker with the piano. My favorite instrument is the piano and I plan--at age 68--to take some piano lessons before too long.

Favorite music is the pop music of the 30's, 40's, sometimes called "Dance Band Music". A couple of favorite tunes are Deep Purple and Stardust. Lazybones is another.

Nearly forgot, I like the Tenor Banjo and might buy a Plectrum before too long since I think it has a prettier sound. Less "plunky" if you know what I mean.

Right now I'm rather tied-up restoring an old farm tractor and everything else is taking a back seat.

I'm Rich with interests and that's much of what life's all about !!

Gosh, too bad we didnt all live closer together,we could form
a band (Hobie could be band director) and when the times came
for the symbols to be clashed we could instead have Old Savage
just shoot off a bang with one of his guns!!!

Heck, for a grand finale we could put down our instruments and
all shoot off our guns in sync in the air.(we should have blanks,I guess) :D
