This series was taken in front of Buckingham Palace the next morning, after about a 1.5 hour wait (to start, plus another ~1.5 hours to wrap it all up). The best viewing is from up front, at the corners of the middle gates, but you'll have to get there 2 hours early to stake out those prime spots. We watched from the steps of the Victoria Statue in the center, and I've included a couple of pictures of that statue and the palace to start this off.
#142, 144, 145 and 147 Oh, and no offense to our English brethren, but if you ever attend this event -- watch your wallets and belongings -- the Mounted Police actually announced that "pickpockets were working the crowd" and they encouraged all those with backpacks to wear them on the front. We didn't have any problems, thankfully, but some foreign travelers got taken.
Here are some pictures from the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the palace. I also bought a CD of "The Changing of the Guards bands" while at the Tower of London and it's really neat to listen to, as it's got a really good mix of brass and bagpipes. Many familiar tunes on it, although I never knew the names before.
#139, 152, 155, 157, 160, 164, and 166 Next up -- not sure when though -- will be another 2-part series on the London RAF Museum. That could easily have been a "10-part" series

Enjoy!
