Got my 336T today!

Post by Goat »

Won an AuctionArms auction a few days ago and received it today. I am a happy camper. The gun is about 90%. It shows some loss of bluing on the sharp edges and the MarSheild finish shows some scratches and is peeling a little where it meets the butt plate. BUT...the butt stock has light "tiger-striping" on both sides and the forearm has a decent amount of burl and the striping also. I think that once it comes back from JES Reboring as a 38/55 I will strip it and re finish with Tru oil to bring out the figure in the wood. I have never posted pics but I guess I will have to learn. Did I mention, I LIKE this gun?

Look forward to the before and after pics... and the range report. Will you take out for a bit of shooting before it undergoes surgery?

I'm scared to shoot it the way it is because I might like it too much and be set on a quest to find yet another 336T! I know ,I know ...I need to learn how to post pics!

If you think it balances well now, it will be really lively after the rebore... Lightens it right up.
