The Trigger is good.

The stock on the other hand......looks like a piece of poplar on the right side.
The left side is fine.

I sent the pics to Browning and asked them to replace it.

That stinks about the stock. The worst part about ordering a gun is not seeing what you will get beforehand. Even with my FFL I will sometimes buy one on a shelf so I can be sure of what I end up with.

That's not the worst thing in the world. It could shoot tiny sized groups, and you will forget the stock in a hurry. A good trigger is more important to me! Congratulations!

OK, so I finally got to fondle the new girl.....

Totally different gun than the old BLRs. Feels and sounds beefy.
The bolt throw is longer - under the basement lights, it feels like it's gonna smack my nose.
The lever thow is the same angle and distance, the lever is longer in the rear.
Length of pull is the same, the receiver is longer.
The safety is too cool. Put it on half-cock and flip the hammer forward. Thumbing the hammer to full-cock takes it off. Slick.
The forearm is more square.
The barrel looks the same.
The chamber is TIGHT.
The bolt lugs are HUGE. No worries there!
The lock-up for the takedown is a hardened bar in the receiver that locks into a groove in the bottom of the barrel. A cam on the takedown lever locks the bar in the up position.
The barrel is located by a pin that slide into a slot. Once the barrel is almost seated there is zero twist. The whole barrel to receiver fit gets tighter as the two halves become one. I assume there is something tapered somewhere, but I have not miked anything yet.
The top of the barrel is D&Td for a scout scope - two visible tapped holes, a locating hole(unthreaded with no fill screw), and at least one under the rear leaf sight.
There is no provision for sling swivels. The pistol gripped versions do. Hmmmm, might be a candidate for a saddle ring - I do love Junior's sling!
I'll start with the iron sights, then I'll scope the receiver and see how that does. I do not have an IER scope.

So far so good, the Jury is out. I'll shoot the prescribed break-in shots and go from there.

Interesting hammer mechanism. I hope they do something for you on the wood.

The hammer safety is very neat and simple. Much better than some cross-bolt or tang safety.

Yep. One fourth of the stock has black streaking in the wood grain.
