OT - Thank you one and all.

Post by kimwcook »

I just read a PM from another member of the forum that made me realize how fortunate I'am to be tolerated on this forum. I've got to say, Thank you, for allowing me to hang here with such a high caliber group of people. I tell co-workers, friends and others of the things people do on this forum for other people and they're just amazed. And, for a while, right after joining the forum, it seemed to me that it would be a passing thing. But, good deeds are done again and again by members of this forum for no gain of their own. I count my blessings that you all allow me to join in.

Thank you, Thank you all.

Happy Holidays for one and all. I'am blessed.

To me, its the only game in town. :D I have been on other forums, but the crude talk turns me off. (I am known to be a gutter mouth, but not here!) I would have to say most of the guys here are in the "over 40" segment. Guys do get nicer with age :D ---women get bossier  --------------------------Sixgun

Besides, leverguns (and single action sixguns) have been my passion since I was about 6, and that was 48 years ago. :D

kimwcook,
How far is Soap Lake from Ruff, Wa.? My Dad was born and raised in Ruff, (pronounced "Roof") about 25 miles east of Moses Lake, Wa.-Vall

Yep. Good forum. Good people.

Most 'gun' people ARE good people; it's time the news media idiots realized that, but most of them are so 'culturally challenged' I think their cultural horizon stops at Starbucks, and their intellectual depth is defined by Oprah and People magazine.
And they stereotype 'us' as the uneducated and narrow-minded - THAT is irony you can sink your teeth into.

Marlinman, Ruff is about 20 miles from my house. It's still in Grant County, getting close to the eastern line. I have a partner that lives just outside of Ruff about 1/4 mile. Very familiar with it. Isn't much of a community anymore. There's about 10 residences there, from manufactured homes to old dilapidated farm homes. Small world.

I can understand why they let you hang out here. As for me, I'm still trying to figure out why people tolerate me spouting off so much! Honestly, I don't have any damaging photos of Hobie or Ambracol, Paco or JimT!

It's been an honor to be welcomed here, and to get to know the finest bunch of gentlemen (a a few ladies) and patriots this country - and others - have to offer. I am humbled by the unselfish caring everyone shows - the true concern the members have for one another - the openess to accept new people joining the fold - the faith demonstrated here daily - and the devotion to firearms and freedom that binds us all.

Well I would keep trying to figure it out. I'm just thankful that the standards are set loe enough to allow someone like me in.

Personally I'm thankful for you all. This is as fine a bunch of gentlemen as I've ever had the pleasure to share company with.

Thanks to all of you for letting me be a part of this group.

I've been on Paco's forum since March or May 2003 (can't remember exactly). 5½ years is pretty good. There is only one reason for that and that is the good folks here. I should say that the prayer requests and good works were a hallmark of the group for a while before I got here. What other forum has a continuing pay it forward topic in their classifieds? What other forum has members regularly meet both individually and in groups? I do know of one other and guess what, MOST of the regular contributors there are/were members here!

Christmas is coming and is just around the corner. I know that the members of this forum, whether or not they are believers in the sacred birth of our savior do believe in and act on the spirit of the season and they do it all year long.

PS - I've bought a few leverguns since joining, too!
Sincerely,

Hobie
