I reported that I had problems with a new Uberti 1873 Carbine a week or so ago. The problem was soft screw heads and tight screws. I did contact Uberti about the problem and ended up buying the VTI hard screw set.
As I had stated in my previous post, the Uberti employees were nice. Much to my surprise, I received a package via Buster Brown this week from them. It contained a fringed leather rifle case and a nice boot knife/sheath combination. I did not ask for anything BTW. I looked the items up on their website and they are not cheap or cheap quality by no means. I would however like to meet the man who is big enough to use this knife in his boot.
I give them an A Plus for their concern and follow through.
They offered to replace the screws (all) with like factory screws. They did know that some rifles got out with soft screws. I had already ordered hard screws from VTI before I got the return call from the customer rep. Some quick research had found that I would be better off with the VTI screws, so I passed on factory replacements.
