Went to a show just lookin' for reloading stuff and....
Ended up doing some early Christmas shopping.
My youngest stepson has been hinting lately that he'd like something bigger than a .22 and
would like to start going along to the cabin for deer season.
Well not finding the Old Boy that's usually there with all the reloading stuff I was about
to leave when I spotted this pre safety 336 in 35 Rem. on a table. I asked how much and
the guy says $250 I say how 'bout $200 and he says ok and throws in a partial box of shells.
She's in really good shape but I think I'll refinish the stocks. There's some dents and scrapes and the previous owner did a lousy
jo installing the rear sling swivel.
The kid loves my 1895M set up with a XS Scout mount and a Leupold scope so I think I'll add that too.
The best part is I finally get play with a 35 Rem and also get to do all the load development and sighting it in!
One of those days that things just come together.
The Gods must be smiling

Loan him YOUR rifle to hunt deer with this season and let him fall in love with it. Then give it to him for Christmas.
Really Baby, I swear that it just followed me home.

That is a good idea. My dad did the very same thing. Have fun J. 1886.Duff L Bagg wrote:Loan him YOUR rifle to hunt deer with this season and let him fall in love with it. Then give it to him for Christmas.

Great deal on a great gun for a great purpose! That is a plan coming together, don't you think?
I'd let him hunt it and then give it to him at Christmas.

Thanks Guys!
Got dies, bullets, and the XS mount ordered from Midway. They were out of 35 Rem. brass so I'll have to do some
more poking around.
The more I read about the 35 Remington the more excited I get about it.

And we have a winner!
Re: Went to a show just lookin' for reloading stuff and....
Good score! All the "pre-owned" levers in shops around here are priced as if they were "NIB".
