I waited in the half light for the pheasants to come off roost and with in a short time he was at them.
He was staying in the tree line though so I put my gloves on and mask and snook in slowly.
The cock birds were cocking up alot but Iknew I was getting close when I could hear the hen birds squeaking, the hen birds are a more dead cert when they are alarmed.
When I did see him mingling with the birds in a mature thuja plantation I could not get the shot so had to move closer at which point a hen flew from me which made the fox check my zone out, he was looking straight at me through some brush but as I anticipated it as the bird flew I had the gun on him.
The Speer 150 made it through the thuja sticks and hit him smack between the eyes, pretty painless for him.
The distance was 25yds (ish). You can see how his belly is full and if I had time I would of unzipped him to see what he'd been eating but really I allready know.
The early morning light was great but the cam went to flash and for some reason is blurry, it was a rush picture because I could hear another fox and was keen to check it out but never did see it.
A good morning, after I got some walking in checking my haunts out, I saw loads of squirl so a 9422 session or two is on the cards

A mild morning with a light wind and with a pink atmosphere as the sun rose beneath the clouds that would later produce rain in Wales whilst out on the Buell
