Re: What is the oldest gun YOU bought and still own?
A Smith and Wesson Number One seven shot revolver, made in the 1860's and chambered for the SW .22 cartridge (name morphed into the .22 blackpowder short). It was not called the .22 short at the time because there were no long or long rifle .22s. This was SW first revolver and the first (I believe) self contained metallic cartridge in America.
I also have an English made muzzle loading double barrel, but I don't know the date of manufacture (mid 1800's?)

1881 marlin made I believe in 1884 unfortunately Bubba had first crack at it but then maybe it is because of him I could get it.No finish left, buggered screws and a broken hammer spring. But a good bore for it's age which was what got me interested in the first place. It is up and shooting just need to work out the sights.

Re: What is the oldest gun YOU bought and still own?
The oldest firearm in my collection is a Martini-Henry Mark III dated 1882, calibre 577-450. I picked it up about twelve years ago at an antique arms show in Timonium, Maryland; the gun is in beautiful condition, with a perfect bore.
Off the top of my head, the gun I bought myself that has been in my collection the longest would be my Colt New Frontier .22.
What a fun question!

Oldest gun I bought and still have: 1943 Enfield No4 Mk1* .
Still in full battle dress, complete with spike bayonet.
That's not the oldest I have, but it's the oldest "I" bought and still have.

We have a Springfield Model 1795 here that the lockplate says was built in 1805 I think .
Also have a Pennsylvania half stock percussion rifle of 36 caliber made by A.B. Smith in western PA sometime between 1840-1850 !
Lets just say we have several that were made from 1800-1850 . But that A.B.Smith is the only one of those we shoot .
We may have a pre 1800 gun somewhere in the safe I just don't remmember .

I purchased a 1966 model Ruger Super Blackhawk in 1968 and still have it. It's also the first firearm I purchased with money I had earned.

A LeFeaux (sp?) pinfire from the mid-1800's. I need to get the mainspring replaced. It is the oldest gun in my collection.
Re: What is the oldest gun YOU bought and still own?
The two oldest guns I own are old Martinis. One is a Greener shotgun the other a take-down Cadet. I have never shot either. At the time I was going to use the actions but now I have long forgotten those plans and would sell both if I could find a buyer.
I have my father's old Remington single shot bolt action M32?? 22 LR on which I learned to shoot 60 years ago.
The first gun I personally ever bought was a SAKO L469 .222 Remington. I have not shot it for quite a while due to a damaged crown but coincidentally just yesterday I got it fixed and it will be back in service as soon as I can remember where I put the .222 ammunition.
