With my prayers come sorrow for your loss, and for the truly tough times endured by you and your sweetheart and dearest friend.

What wonderful memories, shared with a devoted wife and loved one that others have never had. She is still there; now a part of you that you will carry everywhere, locked in your heart. May God lift you up, carry you when you can't take those steps, and show you a way to celebrate the memory of your dear wife and her love for you with others around you!

I am truly sorry, and wish you well.

There's nothing that I can add, but I've said many times before that if it didn't hurt, something would be wrong with us, so keep in mind that in a sense, the pain that you feel from this loss is sort of a tribute to the loved one. In time, the pain will fade and you will be left with the memories. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

From reading your post it was obvious that you both loved each other very much. There is no greater gift than having a life partner return your love. My sincere condolences to you. May God bless you all.

My condolences to you. You'll never fill the void this leaves, but time does (mostly) heal all wounds.

STEELBANGER,

I'm sorry for the loss of your wife, but please know that you have given us more richness in our lives by sharing your feelings. Treasure the wonderful memories and carry something of hers for the rest of your life. It just helps. I wear my dad's ring and carry a special key ring in memory of my mother-in-law.

I'm so very sorry to hear of it Frank.

As you struggle through the coming years (my father endures a similar struggle since a drunk driver took Mom a few years ago) please stay cognizant of the fact that you do God's work in this lifetime by blessing us with your testimony as you did here. I hope that you can find some comfort in that as well as in the continued friendship/fellowship of your peers and admirers.

God bless,
Oly

I have much that I would like to say to you, but the internet is not the place or vehicle to do it. Just know that you are loved and these dark days will become clear in due time. It won't happens in days, weeks or even in a few months, but the skys will clear. Things will never the the same without your dear wife, but they will hold meaning and joy. The old reality is gone, but there is a new good reality for you out there past the tears of saying goodby.

Keep your faith as we pray with and for you. Charles Graff

Gosh, guys, I've been reading, and re-reading this thread, hoping at least one of you would come up with something to say that could somehow 'make it all better'.

I guess you're all in the same boat as I am - there just are not words adequate for the task.

Steelbanger - hang in there. We're shedding tears and saying prayers. You'll make it. She'll still be your 'cheerleader', if you let her. If you're ever in a part of the country near any of us, see if we can arrange a meet-up.

All I can say is remember the good times, because you had a long time together. You were blessed to have that many years. Turn to GOD for healing. I'll keep you in my prayers.

A woman such as you describe is priceless and virtually impossible to even remotely replace. I am touched by your heartfelt and detailed words of your feelings for the relationship you had with her. AJ spoke of the twinkle in her eye, such a sign of positive attitude she must have had, obviousely she was trying to lighten the burden on you even near the end.

Thanks my friend, for sharing your heart, I can believe easily that your lovely bride had one of the best at her side as well.
