Anybody installed the 45 Colt cylinder and ejector tube on 1860 Army Colt Signature Series revolvers?
Wondering how well they fit ?

Re: Kirst cartridge converter
Hmmm. I haven't heard of them being put on a genuine Colt. Uberti's and Pietta's for the Italian Colt and Remington clones, but not a Colt.
I just got in my ejector rod & housing for the 1860. Looks like it will take some hand-fitting.

Were talking 90's era Colt signature series revolvers. They were not actually made by Colt but liscensed to use Colt name.
Lot of parts were Uberti and finished stateside ,Lou Emperato and Son Anthony were the Founders. Of course Anthony went on to found Henry Repeating Arms.

I figure the Signature Series qualifies as "genuine Colts", though I guess some would argue that point.
I would hope Kirst Konverters would fit the Signature Series, but probably worth contacting them to be sure.

Buffalo arms says they do . I really wouldn't want to do anything to my 1860 Army though . If it's a parts fit I might consider one.

If you aren't going to channel the recoil shield, then I recommend getting a R&D or Howell conversion cylinder. You would have to pull the barrel wedge and the barrel to reload the conversion cylinder, so these are $100 - $150 less than the Kirst with it's loading gate. Going this route you won't change the gun at all.

Now, you could still use a Kirst Konverter cylinder, but the loading gate can't be used, though you are paying for it.

Yeah I completely forgot about cartridge channel.
