Fun Drive this Morning

Post by Griff »

I delivered 8 hunting blinds to a guy in VA this morning... thru the early afternoon. Blinds were from Redneck Blinds out of Lamar, MO to this spot.

This spot was SE of Emporia, VA. I had to drag my 53' trailer down this little lane with a couple of turns from one lane to another to reach this spot. Really nice folks. 3 of us struggled to get the first 5 out when a neighbor of the guy buying them stopped and helped. It rained on us for the first couple of hours, but... none of us melted. Luckily, the heat abated somewhat with the rain, but the humidity was brutal!

I tried to get the factory to load up a 9th one so I could take one home... Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit!

I bet it's pretty peaceful back in there. At least until you start hearing banjos. :D

Yes, it looks lovely. I tip my hat, Griff, as I hated delivering lumber with an itty bitty 20-foot triple axle.

I got a chuckle out the one ol' boy tellin' me... "what a couple of old guys will do in the name of deer hunting!" We were all soaked in sweat getting those blinds out of the trailer. And that was having a JD 5101 tractor to do the heavy lifting!

I kept expecting to have 6ptSitka drive up and introduce himself! The owner told me he had 4,000 acres to hunt on! Yep... I'm jealous!

I've been in some much tighter spots... and this one was paved... although I was a little anxious about pullin' off on the grass to get out of the roadway... But where I parked while I got unloaded (between the white barn and the shack was pretty well graveled, even if it had quite a bit of grass grown up in it.

Indeed. My sister lives in Richmond. The guest bedroom is in a part of the house without a/c. I avoid visiting her in the summer.
