HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Post by JimT »

You've gotten older and more crabby and crotchety ... you don't get around as well as you used to ... and you've forgotten your youth and the goals you had when you were young. You don't have to remain that way but at your age nations rarely have the courage and stick-to-it-ness that is needed to regain the spirit and vigor of youth. I pray you find it again. You could start by remembering what a Republic is and making the hard choices to get back to what you were and how you acted when you were younger. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Sincerely

Jim

The vast majority of the populace have certainly grown less discerning of those we elect to represent us. But, paraphrasing what Ayn Rand so famously wrote, any man worthy of holding public office is too scrupulous to stoop to run for it.

It is not in the nature of politics that the best men should be elected. The best men do not want to govern their fellowmen.
