Lord Jim, why you go do this to me! A Mod 71 in 348 or an 86 in 33wcf are in a showdown in my head for a long time for Most Wanted! But either are least needed, but that does not curb the appetite. Clicked on it 3 times already but poor signal won't let it download, but I gotta check em out eventually!

Prices are from a little over $1800 to over $3000 ... the nice thing about buying from Cabela's is they will ship it free to the nearest Cabelas or Bass Pro to you .. no charge for shipping or transfer.

A 71 in any kind of shape most likely be North of $2,000! But if there's a rifle worth that, it's a 71!
Correct me if wrong? Won't Cabelas ship to your local Store, and let you decline to take it if decided?

I believe that to be correct. Not sure if a commitment is necessary. I have a friend that's bought a couple of firearms at an out-of-state Cabela's and had them shipped to his local store.

I thought I remembered reading that myself several year back. Thanks!

Struggle. First one that pops up for me is the long tang deluxe with the 98A bolt peep for $2300. Isn't Father's Day next weekend? Can I get yelled at on Father's Day?

I had a near perfect 1947 model 71 , sold it over 20 years ago and regretted ever since . Just a good well balanced rifle.
IIRC I payed $750 at gun show in early 90's 😤

Well I've been on the Cabelas link, shows fathers day sale, blank listing, won't load up. I'm better off, I need one at those prices like I need a hole in my head! I wouldn't get yelled at FD, but I might go hungry!

See if this one loads.

Here's the one I like ... Win 71, maybe the woods a little worse for wear near the butt plate.

Go ahead, I'm sure your wife won't mind.

Lord, that says Winchester Perfection! I doubt I'd find one I liked any better than that! I don't check on often, but seems to me a fair price! If I could afford, I'd buy it for that in heartbeat! That's a very early one ain't it? Flat Crown, Long Tang?

Been a while. Now that the kids are close to done, I might get back to that and bass fishing when things cool down this Fall.

Isn't there a newer outdoor range up in Volusia off of SR 44 somewhere? Are you still shooting at Strickland and doing the Skeet thing as well?

Skeet every weekend at Volusia County Trap and Skeet.
I go to Strickland once in a while. Went 2 weeks ago with a bunch of 22's.
The range on 44 has been under new ownership for a while.
I need to check it out.
