Nothing better in a double action revolver.

I believe this one is from 1956 and if I were smarter I would have carried one of these my entire law enforcement careeer. Almost as fast in the hand as a SAA but it’s a better gun for a cop

Scott, those 3 1/2" model 27s were some of the wickedest-looking revolvers ever made. I wish I had one. Congratulations on finding one....and good shooting!

Pre-27? Very nice. The 5 and 3 1/2" barrels seem to be the Goldilocks lengths when it comes to N frames, odd that they made comparatively few of them given their popularity.

That’s right, pre-27. I had a Registered Magnum in my hand today as well. This gun looks to be unfired.

It's quite fascinating how much power you can get from a short .357!

125 gr. Speer JHP 20 gr. WC820
From a 24" Rossi leveraction - 2184 fps
From a 1 3/4" S&W Model 340 - 1339 fps

Nearly 2200 fps from 2 foot barrel and well over 1300 fps from less than 2"!!

It shot even better after running some rounds through it.

The terrible thing is I shoot this little gun better than I shoot the FA 97
