Isn't it satisfying? An old Savage with fine bore is a joy!

I tell ya I have two Savage 29 early and this 29B 1951 both have perfect bores and are tack drivers . These are cheap rifles ,pinned barrels but bores are brilliant shiney with fairly wide lands.

The sights are key , the bead and shallow rear notch makes a precision consistent aim.

Here I'm thinking a model 29 by S&W- hence my ransom rest remark. As I didn't notice your rifle in the picture I completely missed it! After realizing it was a rifle I had to look up that model! Savage made some good rifles that never got a fair shake.
