If you guess a holder for all of my powder scoops, you guessed correctly!



What do you think? Scrap wood. Leftover spray paint. Pretty simple project. I made the templates on Excel, so I know the holes were spaced perfectly.

I love those kind of projects where you take scrap items and turn them into something useful for you. My wife always complains about the scrap wood, plastic, tin, steel, rods, etc. I have stored in the garage . . . . until she says something like, "I wish I had . . . . ."

Most of the time I can make something that is exactly what she wants in short order and it doesn't cost me a cent.

It appears that you have used a Sharpie marker or something similar to make the size information more legible (at least on the yellow ones)............good work.

Personally, I would have (and did) acquire an adjustable-throw pistol powder measure after buying the first 6 dippers...

I really like the dippers and I’ve loaded with them since I loaded .30 carbine on a Lee loader at the kitchen table. I was probably 12 or so.

I have a number of these sets and when I find one at a garage sale I grab them because I have several spares in different “kits” scattered around south Texas.

Well Darryl, I have been called a dipstick on more than one occasion!

I used various auto-disc or adjustable measures, but find myself enjoying using the scoops more and more.

BTW, my black scoop set is missing the #108 scoop. Anyone have a spare of that one they'd be willing to part with?

Another question. Does anyone know when Lee Precision went from the black scoops to the red scoops, and then from the red scoops to the yellow ones?

Another question. Does anyone know when Lee Precision went from the black scoops to the red scoops, and then from the red scoops to the yellow ones?

I only have 3 sets of Lee dies. The oldest, a Lee Loader set in 30-30 came to me used, in 1973 or '74. It has a yellow scoop. The other two are regular die sets, one with a red dipper. The 3rd set is the newest, and I haven't opened it up to know what's in it.
