Now that would be fun to have (and use) on my desk at work.
Probably a good thing I'm now retired..

.
when I was a kid they put iini a 16" gas line nearby and left about a 20 ft section of pipeline that had been pushed into weeds when a flod came up during the construction. After a year it was still there and I was SO tempted to find a way to weld an end shut and make a pumpkin/watermelon/bowling ball shooter, but it was actually TOO big, plus as a kid I didn't have a welder or know how to weld, and would never have been able to afford enough black powder for even one shot.
I called the company and they actually came and got the chunk.
I still wonder sometimes if I shouldn't have kept my mouth shut and figured out something cool to do with it. 20 ft of 16" pipe just HAS to be useable for something that involves saying "hold my beer"....

Acetylene is your friend when you’re 12 and dad has a gas welding setup.

Those were fun but my buddies Dad made a cannon for the bicentennial from a reproduction casting and we would load that up and shoot tennis balls , frozen cans of water.
We would put it in the barn before 7/4, load it up, slide the doors open and touch it off! Slide the doors shut and wait for the police to go by. Give it an hour and do it again and again- they probably knew who it was but didn't really care even though the neighborhood complained!

I miss the good days when, as long as nothing was damaged, you could still get away with having fun.
