new guns

Post by oldebear1950 »

Took my new Henry all weather 45-70, with the loading gate, and Rossi 38/357 mag carbine out to the range, and all went very well, awesome actually.
Had some 45-70 I had loaded up , the last time I was stationed in Alaska, in 1983, must have done something rite, cause, they all worked perfectly. I have to be honest, did not know if reloads would still be good

Cool!

I shot up thousands of handloads in the '70s and '80s that my grandfather made in the '50s&60s. Most of them fired without issue, though the light loaded .45 ACPs taught me how to clear a jammed 1911 very quickly. :D

Sounds like a nice time!
As long as the ammo is stored without hot/ cold cycles and kept dry it should last quite a long time .
