Match Day 3-26-23

Post by Griff »

I had planned on going to this club's monthly match yesterday... but... best laid plans & all. Got everything loaded up and then... thought "...cash for entry fee..." Hmmm. where's my fuel card that has my "mad money" stashed away on it... finally found it an hour later, hiding under the clean t-shirts waiting patiently to be folded...

So, rather than unload anything, I switch p/u's and went to the grocery store... Surely you don't want to see a video of that? So, after yesterday's trial run, I did it for real today. I kept forgetting to turn on the recorder, so only captured the first stage of the day. Needless to say, I was slower than everyone else, but I hit all my targets and captured a "clean" pin for the day, 6 stages.

Anyway, I'm shooting a pair of 2nd Gen Colt 1851, that have been worked to include a Ruger plunger & hand spring, the Manhattan conversion (narrowing of the hammer channel, & hammer face... keeps spent caps on the nipplies if they don't fall off as they go buy the cap notch on the right side of the recoil shield), a Uberti 1873 imported thru Taylor's & Sons, called the Comanchero, 18-½" round/octagon bbl, and the Cowboy45Special with a 160 grain RFN & enough APP to fill the air space, a TTN 1878 Colt Coachgun, with Goex Cartridge, someday I'll weigh how much BP fits in a MEC #43 bushing) & 7/8s oz of #8 shot!

Forgive the amatuer feel to the video, as this is just the raw footage. I ain't larned to crop & stuff!

AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
