Lyman mould

I've run across a Lyman single cavity mould in the mountain of mess, not sure where it came from or where.
I believe it's for 38-55 but it looks like a very light bullet from the profile.
The number on the mould is 375 83.

Anyone know what this is? I don't have a set of handles to pour a bullet with...

I'd be tempted to see if it would load in a 36 caliber cap and ball resolver. Over 20 grains or so FFFg it should do a great job of whackin' what needs whacked with such a projectile.

145 gr is what my .36 BP mould is but mines a .380, not. 375.
Be worth a try though. . I'm sure. 375 would keyhole out of my .38-55

Looks like I have a mould for squirrels and bunny wabbits out of my 375 H&H !!

That’s a rare mould…..it’s a shortened 38-55 that weighs 135 grains that guys would use on their hunting trips for shooting small game. ….you know, back when most people only had one gun so they had to make the best of it.

Mine drops out at .377 but it wouldn’t be much …..by using a soft alloy…..to bump em up.

3-5 grains of Unique in the 38-55 or the .375 H&H would be an excellent small game getter.—-006

One gun ! I always carry two or three shotguns for a single class at a sporting event just in case one malfunctions . So at a typical shoot I may have a dozen guns to shoot five events . No point in having the stuff if you need it but left it at home !!!!
