94 legacy downs deer.

Post by Nath »

At long last fellers after months of hunting I get two shots into this fallow buck at around 130yards.
To be honest I've missed two so yesterday I went and did some practice before today's hunt. It payed off.
Shot one spined it. Shot two ended it instantly.
Both rounds exited.
150gn Sierra round nose. 30g n135.
Thank you Lord.

When do we eat!? I love venison backstraps on the grill ! :D
Your season was like mine, no matter what I did I could not find a dumb deer since Sept until 2 weeks ago when our season is over and no jerky or backstraps in sight.

Jess was very confused to be honest.
I encouraged her to find it which she did but then just watched me struggle with it to a place I could get a vehicle to and then gut it. She didn't seem to impressed. Probably because it wasn't a rabbit or squirrel and we all know thems more fun right....

Good deal Nath! I'm thinking Jess will change her mind once you give her a few "deer treats".

We can always expect Nath to come through with success…….but……I noticed the deer is a bit heavy for Nath to hold up and growl at it…

Dang right!
I had to tie it's legs and put the cord around the back of my neck to move it150yards. I looked like Joe Biden shuffling along!

Nath, That gun was the biggest thing I've ever had. I have owned several single shot guns people were giving away that were heads and tail better in comparison.

Nice! Nothing like fresh venison killed with the right gun and cartridge. Perfect.
