Gun Show Score!

Post by Mainehunter »

Yesterday was the first day of my local gun club gun show. I didn't get there till afternoon, busy doing other stuff. Anyway, Nice assortment of firearm's out on display. Pricing on an average seem to be on the high side. I looked around and I was mostly looking for reloading stuff. There was one vendor who was selling mostly powder, new and old. I stumbled across IMR 4895 which he had 24lbs of it in 8lbs jugs. He was asked $200 for each and that was decent deal for my area. Told him I would think about it. I hung around visited some old friends that I haven't seen for a while. I stayed there till it closed to volunteer for cleanup duty. I noticed the vendor with the powder was packing up. I was wondering what was going since the gun show was going through today. I talked to him what was up and he apparently slipped on some ice in the parking and tweaked his back pretty good and he was in pain most of the day. I told him I would help him load his stuff for him and he was very much appreciated. Took me about an hour to load and after it was completed, he pulled out the 24lbs of IMR 4895 and said "Give me $300 for all three and it's yours" I said you don't need to do that, but he insisted so I couldn't say no. I gave him three Benjiman's and walked off with a pile of IMR 4895! Gets to show you it pays to be nice, once in a while.

You did a good turn, and received a good turn in return, so to speak. :D

Well done sir.
I’m no longer surprised at what a stellar group of people sit around this campfire.
I’m grateful.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Nicely done! Not just on getting a great deal on powder, but helping another who needed it too.

Well, that should keep you shooting for a while, as long as you've enough primers to set it off! I'm sure he was VERY grateful for the assistance. Tweaking one's back is a real pain (almost as bad as using a pun in such a situation).

Nice!
Seems like all the powders I use nobody ever has.
And your right, its slim pickings and expensive up here.
