Well, Let me tell you...that movie ranks in the top 5 of all funny movies.......it's an all star cast from back in the day........it's a group of people racing to find $350,000 that's buried under a big "W". .The very best of comedians.

Even has a couple of Jeeps in it, like that old Jeep truck.

Well, we is back from Amish Land and I had those tires doing 80....on a semi back road I had them doing 65. I noticed there is a little "sway" in them as I found myself correcting the wheel from time to time.

Mom did some serious food shopping at the Amish supermarket while I went galavantin' to see some people for business.....I had to hire a Brinks to haul the loot.........we're setting sail for Aruba next week......----000000006

I get a little wander with the truck, but I didn't think it was the tires. Figured it was steering or front end geometry or something. Caster angle can do that.

Aruba? I Magine!
You ain't going nowhere. :D

Ya know somethin' Jay.......I believe we have converted 45 Colt. :D He is as sick as we are....HEY .45 Colt.....you should change your handle to .45 LONG COLT!!!!!!. Not only is it historically more accurate, it sets you apart from the average nobody 'cause we are not nobodies here on the PI thread.....you are in an ELITE group of professional gun people......

Ya know, those "Shootists" think they are elite and think they give the aura of "special people". Heck, I was thumb busting single action Colts before most of them were alive...except for John Taffin.

On to the Brinks truck.....keep in mind that my windfall is much different than a rich guys windfall.....THINK....THINK.....a man who makes $200,000 a year and $190,000 goes right back out to pay bills is therefore $10,000 rich.

A peon like me who makes $50,000 a year for doing nothing and at the MOST, $7,500 goes out to pay bills and $42,500 is mine to play with.....now, who is richer? :D. I only needed the Brinks because I was paid in pennies.

Most people want others to think they is rich so buys dat Mercedes, goes to Aruba, and buys a 5,000 sq. ft house ........do they really think it's gonna say that on their tombstone?

No...wouldn't go to no Aruba or any island nation.....walk 2' away from the tourist gates and your dead. I've been all there and done that....people are a.h.'s no matter where you go.

Hey! I won page 174!!!! I think it's time for 45 Long Colt to start awarding prizes.....whatcha have good buddy?

One mans $1 is the same as another's $1,000...if I find $10 in an old coat I'm as happy as a pig in you-know-what where it takes a rich man to find 20G's to get the same feeling.......I prefer being a peon as the hoop I jump through is only a foot high....and much easier to replace. When a rich man gets in financial trouble, he's in trouble.....I just reach into the change holder in the Jeep.

Well, I had a long day and have decided to check out early....worn out from counting pennies.

Well, you can't make this stuff up.
This place is such a joke. We get in here tonight and they gave us a t-shirt and a calendar. We look at the calendar, and all the pictures are from the family outing last summer with everyone's kids and everything. Hey nothing wrong with that.
Then you get to October......
There in the pictures of all the kids is this dude from management dressed like a clown (didn't really need a costume). He looked like John Wayne Gacy. Next to him is another dude dressed as a clown, but with shorts, and I don't know what it is exactly but it looks like he is REALLY happy in his pants if you know what I mean. WTF!?
Someone probably should call the state.
I guess they already had them printed before anyone noticed. Wouldn't you have just said NO WAY and not handed them out?
All I know is, 25 years ago we'd have had hundreds of these cut out and hanging everywhere with all kids of captions.
Only in this place.....

I tell ya boys....
It'll be interesting to see if anyone does anything. There a lot of major disgruntled people here. In the last year, there have been several people with 20 years and over quit.
Every week I hope they close, as I would make out the best that way. There is no way this place makes any money.
There are 4 brand new machines beside me that have been here 2 years and never run. After they bought them, they figured out the controls didn't have enough memory. Then, when they cobbled on all the stupid garbage they wanted to do with fixturing, the tables were overweight.
What a joke.

Young man....DO AS THEY TELL YOU......STUPID PEOPLE QUIT! They want you to quit or do something stupid--look at the money they will save.....use their rules against THEM.....do as your told and ride it out and if they release you, they will be liable for a year or two of unemployment and benefits, and maybe retraining...maybe as a photographer or a model wearing shorts with a potato taped to your leg.....

I've seen it many times, a guy will punch out a boss or will just quit....the money ends right there........use them,....be cool......relax.....it ain't forever pal......don't disappoint me!!!!!

Haha I don't go to that stuff either. Never have in 35 years. This place is a job. That's it. I got just a few guys here I talk to and are friendly with. Some of the few left of the Old Guard. I think there is only 24 ahead of me in plant seniority, and none of those have been here more than a year or so longer that me.
The only one I have anything to do with outside of work is my buddy from over home that I ride with. We have rode together for 35 years, plus the 2 years we went to tech school. We went to school together since Jr. High. Only person I trust here. Plus I saved his bacon one time when the shop head honcho caught him sleeping. :D

Been having a lot of pain in my lower back, I had a fusion of L5-S1 in 2008. They found that I have 2 screws that have worked loose in L5 as in wallowed out there respective holes. So on 2/15/23 I’ll have surgery to fuse L4-5 and S1.
So six you were right, I do have some screws loose

Harry....That dang Old Win.beat me to the punchline with his Loctite solution.......so I'll beat him this time.....Harry, tell the doc to drill all the way through and a half inch out the other side and then double nut it.

Best of luck to ya.....I've been fortunate after having been thrown high and low in cars, small explosions next to my face, been shot, animal bites...and I still don't have any screws holding me together....divine intervention......(I read the Bible everyday and go to church on Sundays)... :D

Well Jayster........KEY WORD......"MARGINAL"........be marginal at work...just enough to get you by without just cause for a termination......even if it does hit the fan, you have nothing to worry about at this stage in life.......unlike most guys who are maxed out in debt.------006

Hey! Your good at rapping! I like that bro......from now on, you are known as Kanye da Rap artist! Let's see, "JayRay" or maybe "Jayye". Oh S bro....like my dad told me, "you last 5 years are the hardest". My son and I had the same conversation the other day...He HATES the railroad despite his $6,200 every two weeks paycheck.....

We are not designed to have jobs, drive cars and such. You and I would flourish in the wild while we had the liberals to do the camp work. :D

Imagine that..a whole thread on how to reduce the thickness of a rim.....I was doing that stuff when I was 20...for real, in my day, there was no brass for the old guns or for that matter, a lot of old caliber dies had to be special ordered from RCBS. Had to hunt down old moulds and Robert Stillwell in Texas would custom make sizing dies....and.......and......there were no how to books nor an internet. I had to buy old loading manuals. Best powders available were Unique and 4198. Everything was by letter writing as long distance phone calls were a no-no.

I remember talking to a guy in California on the phone back in the early seventies from Huntington Die Industries....I was so excited asking him the weather and how things are out that way........then the $16 phone bill came in....I was exasperated, thinking I could have had 3,000 primers for the same amount that that phone call cost me......

Marginal.......mediocre......marginal......mediocre........ :D .....f it....we are on this side of the dirt, PLUS, you and I have the Winchesters and Colts!!!....but we don't have what most have...debt...... :D ---006

Yup. I remember those days. I use to search out all the old loading manuals I could find. Talk to old timers. And a LOT of trial and error.
My first adventure was with a 92 carbine in 44-40.
Thing is, I had more fun back then messing around getting that thing going. Of course, there was a lot less other stuff vying for my attention. No wife, no kids, no house. Just playing with old guns, dirt bikes, a snowmobile, and my 59 Willys CJ5.

Good times......

Rapper......?
Should I go get some chrome plated teeth, some baggy ankle length shorts, and lime green sneakers? I'd really fit in around here. :D

Yea...yea.....a "grille" is what you need.......all flashy just studded with bling.........

You have to work tonight? Dang! Nobody else will talk to me and I feel so alone, sad, bewildered, ashamed........well, I better go read some scriptures and repent......Sunday I'll be the first in line at St Thomas the Apostle with my social security check..

Yea....there are believers and there are "believers"....just look at their past and that will clue you in. Jim Jones will attest to that.

Oh! Another thing......the "Chernobyl Baby" is back in town......I'll clue you in in a bit......got to bring in some wood and take my Saturday shower........got a belly full of Amish chile......watch out in a couple of hours!!!!

Wait till you hear the story on Ms. Apple that occurred during our late afternoon walk...---00

Yup. I'm at work. It's the same Big 3 every week.

You know, it's amazing. I work the same 3 days every week. Three days. Yet even my kids never know when I'm working. The "weekend mentality" is so ingrained in society that nobody can comprehend any different.
Like here at work. We are the only ones who will work this shift. Everyone else works all week, then wants to be in here all weekend on overtime, yet they wouldn't work this 3 day shift.
They hate us cause we are off all week, but they wouldn't do it.

People are idiots.

In my day I wouldn't have taken your schedule but only for two reasons....matches & gunshows....near every Sat. was a match somewhere but if it wasn't for that I'd suck it up....36 hours and have the week off..oh yea.......I was always "8 and skate" but there were only two guys who could turn down forced overtime....me and "the pig" ...Mike, the guy I was telling you would eat anything, even two week old mushy bananas and sandwiches left in the refrigerator that the previous guy left there before he went on a two week vacation,,,,.....yea....sometimes those sandwiches would walk around the refrigerator all by themselves...

Well bro.....from someone like me looking at your situation from the outside I'd say it's pretty good......clean environment, warm, good pay..........it's the little things that annoy you when you get older like other people or slight changes in the way you work when you have been used to doing it your way for 30 years...

Got a new Duracell battery for "ole yeller"....a buck forty two....the FIRST new battery.....no lie, I must have had 20-25 batteries in that Jeep like when I'd buy a new one for something else I'd put the old one in ole yeller, even tractor batteries. Sometimes I'd buy one off of a friend for $20 when they were buying a new one...... :D Go ahead and laugh..you've done the same as a redneck.

JUST THROWING it by you......I've been making a killing selling guns as gun prices are high, very high. I'm making hay as the sun shines......That Marlin CL in 25-20 is headed up next week...has the box, papers, a pre war tang sight and a full length mag tube that I put on....near moa with a scope on it.......$1,000......it'll bring 15-16 at the auction.....might put it on here for 12

You don't even have to pay me for several months or so. Personally your better off with a 32-20 for woods loafing. I just don't want you to see it for sale and "how come he didn't ask me"? I take care of my bros.-----002520

Yeah. I gave up being able to participate with the Jeep club. I still belong, but can't really do rides. Same with my few friends. However, I weighed it out and felt it worth it. Dad is getting older, and these few years before I retire could be the last that he can get out and do stuff. This shift let's me spend time with him and help out more.

Hahaha oh yeah!

Old Red is loaded with old used parts. The battery in it now has been there awhile, but it was the first new battery since we got it in 2004. A 250 dollar Odyssey. Got a winch to run, you know. Same thing, same time went in my Rubicon. The Optima we took out of Old Red was put in my Rubicon in 2004. Believe it or not, that Optima is running the winch on the cellar rollway ramp at my dad's.
Old Red got the first new set of tires last year. All used prior to that. Then tire suspension, hood latches, rear sway bar links, seat covers, bumpers, rims, wiper motor, radio, and too many parts to remember, are all off other Jeeps that either us or friends had. Some came out of junk yard TJs, but those are very rare.
The funny thing is, Old Red is rock solid, sits straight and square, and goes down the road like a new rig. It has 180k on the ticker.

Haha no sweat buddy. I greatly appreciate it. You don't owe me anything, and I'd never hold that against you. Trust me, if there's something I want, I will give a holler.

Ha! The hooker......you and I have a different "mind picture" when it comes to those... ....I've been told (for real, never saw one) that all the hookers come from Idaho.....they stand on the corner hollering, "I da hoe!". I can picture ones from your way with telephone poles holding up the table... :D about how the same upstate Pa...corn fed from Cornville.

Some of the stories I've heard from guys at work who used to hang in Philly would make you gag.....for real....once a year Philly has a "wing Bowl" in the main sports complex....google it....."wing bowl".....and its sponsored by the "Gentlemans clubs" of Philly.....filled with dancers and other scabs, you can see the diseases crawling all over them....

Copy that on da Marlin.....

Watching the news......bang bang on every corner.....on Sunday mornings they bring the meat wagons and cruise the streets picking up dead bodies and I'm behind them picking up the brass. It's amazing the lawlessness that happens there......guns, knives, needles, used condoms (sometimes used two or three times), trash, pizza boxes, chicken bones, KFC bags and wigs litter the streets.....

Gas prices on the rise.....

Huh! I'd never heard of the wing bowl. Sounds like a low key version of the West Athens 4th of July parade. But most likely with better looking and cleaner women. The parade got canceled too. Mostly because word got out beyond the local area. Rough.

I think if I ever get the snow cleaned up this week I'm going to start prepping up my 44 magnum brass. I keep going back and forth on working up a new load.
Biggest thing is they go through everything from a 3" barreled Smith to a 20" Browning 92. I've always used 23.2gr of IMR4227 behind a 240gr XTP. Just used a standard CCI300. They shoot well and I have an easier time finding 4227 around here than 2400. I have H110 too, but don't care for the lower limits with these powders.
I hunt with the rifles. While it is certainly enough, I only get about 1500fps out of my 16" barreled Winchester.
Of course, I've been talking about it for years but never changed.

Jay I can entirely sympathize with how you feel, I loved my last job when I started but changes in management and stupid ideas ruined it for me, ended up hating it.
Maybe a change in career would be good now that we have discovered your talent as a Rapper ... :D I'm sure Six would be happy to be your manager.

Ha! I love this guy GK!!!......sure, I'll be his manager and like most rapper managers I'll skim off the top until I can buy the Winchester museum....and even have some left over for GK so he can buy Winchester Cathedral.

Was wondering about GK in all that cold in the Northlands.....was beginning to worry that he got his tongue stuck on a road sign. That would be a sight, GK stuck on a road sign with Pitchy stuck on a tractor in the background and while they are stuck, Jay's got his buffalo coat on and rummaging through their belongings. I tell ya, it's Christmas everyday.........if you want it to be......

Well...another miserable day outside..38...rainy....dark overcast........my stomach is rumbling and making all sorts of weird noises....must be that Amish chile I ate last night.......better open a window......-----006 and 7/8ths

Hey, look at the bright side. I had Campbell's microwave Chilli for supper at work last night. Got the same results though. The truck cab seemed pretty small on the way home this morning. And at 6 below zero, there was no open windows.
Yeah we got a few inches coming again tonight. Then a foot on Wednesday. I may be done getting the Gladiator into camp.

Couldn't help but laugh on that one.........mom tells me that when she's watching me walk amongst people they seem to spread out away from me.

It gets worse bro.......wait until you get to my level.....you don't care who thinks what, in fact, you enjoy watching people get away from you.

I've burned a lot of bridges in the name of "get away from me".

For real, it's all about testosterone and men get grumpy as they get old.........that's not my beliefs as I feel I still have loads of testosterone.......for me it's the reality that people are only nice to you when they want something from you as any other time, they will let the door slam in your face.

Yup. No doubt about it. My circle is more like a dot.
I'm not an unhappy person and like to have a good time and a good laugh as much as anyone, but when out in public I keep a sharp eye out and don't put up with no BS. I'm sure I give that vibe off. I rarely have an issue.
I will always avoid a problem. Especially if the wife is with me. But I also don't back up much.

Your also bigger than most people. That helps.

Man am I bored.......steady cold rain.......virtually no cars on the road........it's like the whole world died and left it all to me....well, I expect that. :D

Watched the "Battle of Britain" for the 50th time......the British government gave these "Anderson shelters" out to people to put in their back yards when the bombs fell. By the looks of them, a small hand grenade would blow em into the next county.....false hope..I didn't know this but for a while in the beginning months of the Nazi's bombing them the government would not let the people use the subways for shelter in fear that they wouldn't go to work the next day........wow! Looking at that shows how comfy we are here in the states.

Geeze, here they get money, cars, cellphones, musk oil, wigs, pizza, hoagies with hot seeds, housing, illicit drugs, and rap records......and they still don't go to work...

Hahaha yeah. It's really getting ridiculous. On top of that, they get no cash bail and most times no jail times for crimes they'd of been hung for a hundred years ago.
Yes sir! We sure have come a long way. You might say we've "progressed" because of the "progressives".

Man! We're gonna flip another page before long. Think we'll be here long enough to hit 200?
We should plan a celebration of some sort.

Sure thing bro.....I personally see page 500.....the only thing we have to do is "be nice" as it's more important than the truth....

Yea...talk guns, snow, jobs, (yours) reloading, snowmobiles, motorcycles, our hot wives,(well, mine used to be) easy living, Jeeps, the outdoors, Costco, camping, cabins, all of the coolest tools at our fingertips, garages, batteries, dirty underwear, our excellent health, all of the neat things you and I can do in our free states like pay cash, do a 4473 and walk out with the gun of our choice, class 3 machine guns, (if we want them) no nosy neighbors, free space to breathe...

You know....cool stuff...and of course on rainy miserable days we can go to our gun rooms and fondle the very best that Winchester, Colt, Marlin, Remington, Smith & Wesson, and Ruger ever put out.

Yea dude, and THAT is how you "spread the crowd away" while your walking. .....or on a thread..... :D It works, trust this old dude....

Yea, it's a wonderful life......-----006

Look at this 1911....the finest known Singer.....(not mine but I played with it)...went for a measly 75 big ones....

Man! That Singer is unbelievable. To even have that in your hand is pretty impressive. I can't get over what run of the mill military 1911s go for now. I should have bought one years ago when they were affordable.

Yea.....I remember that a decent common one could be had for less than what a commercial one went for.....even 10 years ago they were under a grand....junkers are bringing 2 g's at auction.....

My bud has over a hundred of them and none are junk ....many are still NIB in the original kraft boxes....

Read between the lines....my voice has been squashed concerning brand bashing and it's understandable as LEVERGUNS is not my forum and I must abide by the rules...agreed and I won't argue but....but.....

You and I can brag and brag and brag and brag on the good stuff...and everyone does know the difference. :D

Haha yeah.
Over a hundred? Holy smokes!
I always remember my old buddy telling me one time he traded a Ruger .22 auto pistol even for 2 1911s with a web belt, holsters, and ammo. He said back years ago they weren't worth anything and nobody wanted them cause they were "no good".

There's some good stuff that just came on the NEWSMAX channel, if you have it....it's about the Jan. 6 fiasco...

Bring your 1911. An Ithaca will do, no need to bring the Singer or the North American Arms...

But I'll sure try buddy. I want to make you proud. :D

I'm hoping they will figure out it'd be better for everyone if they just gave me my stuff and payed me to stay home.

Naaa...that's a pipe dream......they will never do that........just continue as per last nights conversation......"marginal".......

After what I witnessed in my last few years I will NEVER have any compassion for any large company.......how they use psychology to keep people divided and the bums get rewarded while the top achievers are scrutinized and kept in fear as it's not easy for someone in their late fifties to find work with the benefits I was getting. They had me on pins and needles even though I was the number one truck loader......none of it meant sense.......I had a near perfect attendance record and was called to the front office for being ONE minute late at lunchtime. Huh? "One minute" I asked them. They tell me it counted as half an absence and after 3 absences you go into phase one.......phase two comes after 5 absences......I had ONE AND A HALF absences over the course of a year. These things play with your head so you make mistakes in your job......

There were a dozen other instances and I finally caught on to their plan so I kept everything to myself, telling no one and documented every time they unjustly "punished" me.....6 months later I had all I needed and called the union which the union told me to leave it all alone or it will get worse.

I told the union they will do as I say as they work for me......charges of company harassment with the union being complicit. I acted as my own "lawyer", told the union I wanted no representation and beat em bad. Of course I had help with the letter of an outside lawyer firm that was on call to represent me that was well noted. I worked my last 5 years in harmony.......

It wasn't easy but sometimes you have to take it all in your own hands....don't let anyone push you around......be marginal, be on time and do as your told...then go home.

But you know all this. It makes me feel better knowing I beat a giant.----006

Yup. I've seen and learned it all buddy. Only difference is this place is non union. I keep telling these idiots to vote one in. Cause if nothing else, it will ruin the careers of every management person who was here when it got voted in. This place has been here since 69. But, it is one of the biggest companies in the world. They got deep pockets, but there is still stuff you can do. You just need to know the right words to say, and who to say em to. Every 10 years or so there are little buzzwords that are in vogue and everyone is all sensitive about.
You gotta keep em off balance. They love loudmouth idiots. If you let them know you aren't a pushover and can think, they are more careful about messing with you.

When I was full time before I retired the Manger goes on vacation , I fill in and get paid his wage and all is well..... new director decides not to pay Me the top wage but gives Me a couple of gift cards instead. union shop with a binding contract. things are so bad in the store I keep My mouth shut and bide My time. they are running the place like a scab shop. same thing happens again and it gets leaked out to Cleveland. the union sends an Old Head to work in the store full time. He is an ex meat cutter . calls Me one day and says He going to the main office to talk to the head of HR , calls Me later that day and says I keep the gift cards . next day I got a $300 adjustment in my check. the mgrs. in the store wouldn't even look Me in the eye. flipping Backstabbers. . off to work....
