Sooo, I won a Rossi 92 in .357 on Gunbroker on Christmas Day I thought there would be more bidders ...
Anywhoo, it's the 20-inch blued version. I am already dreaming of "personalizing" it by converting it to a half or 3/4 magazine. Am I nuts or what, and DON'T ANSWER THAT!
Nice Bill and my vote is for not chopping the mag. The 20" round barrels are very light guns . I used to get 12 x 38 special in mine and well I thought that was pretty cool.
Jim, you are among the handful whom I find most responsible ...
Mick, capacity doesn't interest me as much as my rifle having a bit of flair. As to being light, I have had a couple of the Rossis before. I think shortening the magazine would just turn it from a four-weight into a three-weight flyrod, if you will.
Good! We have one .357 with a 20" octagon barrel. it's a real piece of iron (heavy) very steady to shoot offhand. Let My Daughter & Son in Law have it for a house gun. Paul killed a big groundhog with it at about 70 yards. I'll never get it back. . it was worked on before I got it and is slicker than snot. They are sleepers for sure.
Bill we know how you operate: by the time you get it changed to half-mag (yeah, I also like the look of 'em that way) you'll be bored with the rifle and sell it. Go ahead and shoot a few boxes of ammo through it so you'll at least have shot it before sending it on down the road. When you sell it you'll get just as much money for the full-mag version and won't be out money and time for the conversion.

'Bout spit out my coffee this morning!
Although Earl is spot on, having all that work done to that '92 will keep that ADD under control a little while longer.
