It's a Cold Steel "Kobun" with a 5.5" tanto-style blade, OAL 9+7/8".
I would not want to get slashed with this -- or any other knife...

Looks very suited to the purpose.
I never learned a thing about knife fighting beyond the first principle that you must expect to get cut even if you win.
I can't believe that years ago at a small Lions Club gun show in Roseburg, Oregon, I said no more than the basic pleasantries to Col. Rex Applegate, who was selling his book on the subject. There was another guy at that show, the late gunwriter Chuck Karwan, that I spoke with for a few minutes about surplus pistols.

Nice blade. I had their Recon Tanto many years ago. I love their OSS also, simply wicked. A buddy pleaded and I gave it to him. Only have one CS now, Laredo Bowie.
I have a pair of mini tantos my Kali instructor gave me years ago. He gave sets to students when they reached a certain proficiency.
I keep them for sentimental reasons. I actually became enamored with the bolo style blades. I rarely carry two but even one properly used can inflict some serious damage in a hurry

Up until a few years ago, carrying that in my state was a felony, while carrying a handgun unlicensed was a misdemeanor. Nowadays, the law allows a sword or even an axe ...
