Work like that for basic stuff like he is stuff that some people think of as misery for the sake of survival, but to a lot of us it's just part of living a full and complete life.

There are days it hurts all over my body to go out and do chores or cut wood, but then I think of friends of mine who have had strokes or can't go outside at all or have passed away and think I'm lucky to be able to go outside and do something even if it's uncomfortable.

Thanks gents, the key thing about this setup is ya can use the claw, spikes on the front of the saw and just pivot the saw where in the pile ya have to push on the saw and carry the weight.
This is the ticket for bad backs and hips. :D

After my big stroke a bit over 4 months ago from the Covid vaccine, I have found my sense of balance is still off. Strokes are nothing to ignore.

Glad you're OK Lenn! Wood is a lot of work. Especially in the heat. Don't overdo it. Glad you checked in.

Lenn, it warms my heart to see you diligently putting wood by for the coming winter, even though it is hotter than blazes -- even unusually so for the Rolling Plains of Texas. Easy does it, friend! 8)

Was sawing through a log recently and darned if I didn't hit a nail ! Darn thing must have been pounded in 40+ years ago to be that deep in the log. Didn't have to see the sparks to know what I hit, it's a one of a kind vibration.

Hasn`t been much activity at the mill for a few years, last time we sawed we hit a spike and knocked the edge off of the new teeth we just put in.
We did run the mill this year and sawed up some logs that were left on the skid way and i also made a hold down dog for the middle head block witch i never had all these years so i`m anxious too try that out.
Need to saw down a couple trees one of these days but sure if i can get er done.
