For those of you in the SF Bay area, here's something you might (or might not) want to get on board with.

I was privileged to do two years of JROTC during my variegated highschool years. It was a positive experience indeed and I believe that kids today would benefit greatly from it.

Paul, thanks for posting!
I really enjoy Michelle Malkin's writing. She is a firebrand, but much more likeable than Ann Coulter (who I enjoy reading as well)!

Re: OT - SF Bay area JROTC
My oldest daughter is in AFJROTC and it has been a very positive experience.
The instructor said he is afraid that the program may close for lack of funding.... Not really but here is how it works:
NOW, the school must foot the bill for ROTC and be reimbursed by the military. This allows a school to say that the military has cut the funding for the program and that is the reason for removing it. I am going to make sure my school board is reminded IN PUBLIC that the funding is not eliminated.... rather it is re-structured and local taxpayers will not have to pay for the program. Just for your information.
