Kel-tec donating arms to Ukraine

Post by 2ndovc »

Just saw on Fox this morning that Kel-Tec is donating $200k worth of small arms to the civilians in Ukraine to help defend their homes and towns.
Not likely to change the course of the war, but a darned cool thing to do!
I don't own any of their firearms, but thought that semiauto .22 Magnum carbine was kind of cool. Going to have to look those over again.

The sub2000 is easy to use, and the 16 inch barrel bumps up the velocity. It would be a great urban terrain weapon.

we have a sub2000 in the safe that my grandson bought several years ago, it is dead on out 175 yards.

This is actually a pretty good move. I can see the ads now about their guns being battle tested.

I always thought one of their 30 shot, 22 mag handguns would be "the berries".

Those . 22Mag handguns are ammunition sensitive. The Sub2000 is only as sensitive as the magazine.

In their defense, they can use it as a great marketing ploy. I am not interested in debating the validity of the situation over there. I am simply looking at the marketing value. It could be a way to get people to look at their products.

My twin has one in 9mm -- he carries it out of the house (in Mass [the poor bast*rd]) in a Tennis Racket bag.

It really ups the 9mm potential, plus he has a semi- handgun with matching mags.

It's just one of his bad times pieces.

Sounds smart to me. Ammunition is always a concern, and 9mm is very common. That makes resupply easier if the fan calls for mreens. Say it out loud. When the biological waste impacts the fan, it calls for mreens.

But I haven't heard where Glock is giving arms to Ukrainians? So I'd rather support a gun maker who is.

 Let's make aid conditional to Ukraine turning over all the proof they have of corruption with US politicians. The current administration, of course, will never do this for obvious reasons.

Well this turned into a pile of political paranoia far more quickly that I expected.

There's more to the story that took about 30 seconds to research. I didn't see this as anything other than attempt to help the civilian population with a simply operated means to personally defend yourself and your family.

The news anchors are idiots, but the owner of Kel-Tec isn't.

I can see doing that for their Government. However, their civilians are innocent. I am willing to help them defend themselves as much as I can.

I think there would be far fewer wars if every nation was filled with well-armed citizens, however the U.S. could be an example to the contrary - we are the best-armed citizenry in the world, yet we do have a government 'involved' in wars most of the time. At least we don't attack the way Russia has in terms of targeting civilians, and although our wars are often filled with background economic and strategic intrigue, we don't just go kill people for having the wrong religion or because we are going to take their resources by force.

Still, it seems like if every Russian citizen had an AK-47 and 10,000 rounds of ammunition, they wouldn't have a dictator for very long.

Talk about disarmament. NATO demanded ukraine decommission its nuke arsenal and a lot of its army after the USSR broke up. The Russian bear moves in and what do the ukrainians get to deter them ....keltecs. :|

Might not be the best, but they have a few which are reliable as anything I have ever seen. Reliable guns when you are butt deep in alligators is nothing to refuse.

They can't meet the demand for their products here and now. Not now, not pre-Biden, not pre-pandemic, not Pre-Obama.

That aside, can you imagine bing there someone handing you one of those plastic things? "What the @#%# is the piece of junk?"

Beats a kitchen knife though, doesn't it?

Here's a thought.
Take the little carbine, go out and bag a Russian. Take his stuff and give the little carbine to the next guy. Pretty simple premise, I would think.
